About BoneNet

BoneNet.net—this website—seeks to promote bone research in general and the study of the mechanosensory system in bone in particular. It is one of three mechanisms that, together with the Bone Seminars and Bone Fluid Flow Workshops, are funded by a grant to the New York Center for Biomedical Engineering at the City University of New York from the National Science Foundation through its Program on Research Coordination Networks in Biological Sciences in the Directorate for Biological Sciences

The Bone Seminar Series consists of eight seminars per year, beginning in October and ending in April or May, continuing a tradition established by the Bone and Tooth Discussion Group that was active in the New York City area for over three decades. (Click here for an informal history of the Bone and Tooth Discussion Group.)

A one- or two-day Bone Fluid Flow Workshop, typically with twenty or more presenters and over one hundred participants, is held each September.

Policy decisions regarding Seminars and Workshops are made by the Interinstitutional Steering Committee, whose membership consists of distinguished bone researchers in the New York City area.
